Spring Camp Tryout essentially means an aptitude test/examination show. Generally, it is a place where athletes who wish to join a sports organization can appeal their abilities in front of the organization's officials and aim for a contract. The difference between scouting and tryouts is that in scouting, the team politely asks the other team to come, whereas in tryouts, the applicant volunteers to be a member of the team. Here, it means an entrance test for professional baseball teams. It is used as a means for teams to recruit players from the public at large, in addition to acquiring players through the draft and trades.

Usually, professional leagues in the U.S. hold a spring camp before the season, and the spring camp also serves as tryouts. If the Empire League catches the attention of the officials as well, it will open up opportunities for MLB. Itakura (EPF representative) and Mr. Eddie Gonzalez (league representative), both active members of the MLB Partners League, will team up to conduct tryouts at the Empire League Spring Camp.
